Rotala sp. 'Myanmar'

Rotala is a diverse genus of aquarium stem plants that are loved for their vivid coloration, fast growth, and versatility in plant related hobbies. These plants feature delicate leaves that come in a myriad of colors including bright green, orange, red and pink tones. A classic name in the planted tank hobby, there is a Rotala for every aquascape.

The most commonly known types like Rotala Rotundifolia and Indica, feature many cultivars within their respective groups. These aquatic stem plants are fairly adaptable, but grow best in planted tanks with CO2 injection, moderate to high lighting and nutrient-rich waters. When conditions are optimal, consistent maintenance is required to maintain a manicured look or to achieve the coveted bushy appearance. Once established, Rotala can be easily propagated by trimming its stems and replanting. Most species can also grow in emersed conditions, making them suitable for Wabi Kusa setups and terrariums!
