Star Wood Driftwood is a natural hardscape option for planted aquariums. Its long, straight branches with pointed tips create a more structured, minimalist look. With similarities to Manzanita and Spider Wood, it offers a nice balance of texture and neutral color, making it a great choice for wood-focused layouts while still being easy to work with.

Its more predictable shape makes it ideal for center or triangular layouts with sloped substrate. Whether used on its own or combined with stone, Star Wood gives you a clean, organic look that works well for nature-style aquascaping. Pair it with a lush foreground or your own mix of aquarium sand and gravel, then finish it off with your favorite rhizome plants!

Best For
- Aquascapes that need structured flow or straighter branching
- Attaching rhizome plants like Anubias, Bucephalandra, and moss

Star Wood Highlights
- Similarities to Manzanita and Spider Wood in texture, color and shape with straighter branches, making it easier to work with when creating a driftwood focused aquascape layout
- Available in three sizes, making it ideal for standard aquarium sizes and larger

What to Expect
Each piece of Star Wood is unique in shape, branching, and orientation. Natural variations in size, structure and color should be expected. Pieces are selected by size category, but no two will be identical.

This wood is naturally buoyant and will float when first introduced. Allow time for it to become fully waterlogged, or use hardscape, stones, or weights to hold it in place during the initial fill.

Driftwood will also release tannins that tint the water, and a harmless white biofilm may develop during the first few weeks. Both are natural and temporary, and some fish and shrimp will happily graze! Alternatively, it can be removed with a soft-bristle brush and removed during routine maintenance.
